Winging Our Way Home!We got a direct flight on United from Rome to Chicago O'Hare on the 4th of July, and our plane was pretty close to brand new! Check out the pictures to the right. That dial you see below the far right one makes your window more or less tinted blue! No shades, and no having fellow passengers letting in bright sunlight if you want to sleep! I'm always the passenger trying not to let in the light but wanting to look outside. On this plane I could without flooding the cabin with bright sunshine. So cool, and frankly brilliant! I can still look out the window with it tinted darker blue, and all anybody else in the cabin gets is a soft blue glow. It was one of the best flights I've ever had.

It was a long 10 hour flight back to Chicago. Below is a picture of our decent with the wing over Lake Michigan. While I love our travels, getting back to our kids is always a wonderful feeling! We drove the 2+ hours back to Mt. Horeb after landing in Chicago, greeted our kids with excitement and my sister, who had taken on the task of watching a rambunctious teen and tween for us, with gratitude. We swapped stories, the three of them also had some adventures stateside while we were in Italy, and started to relax back in familiar surroundings.
Thanks so much for traveling vicariously with us through this scrapbook. I hope you enjoyed it! ~ Jodi
